Making AudioWorks perform at this level is not quite a simple as building a
tree and calling awFrame. Typically users find that using the higher level
abstraction is much simpler and provides similar control. You can still
write code without using an adf file without too much trouble. I would
suggest starting out with this method, then once you understand what has to
be done to get sound generated using this level, dropping down to direct
tree manipulations and custom traversals will be much simpler. If you are
comfortable with using Performer at this level you shouldn't have much
problem.
The advantage of using at least a minimal adf if possible is large. You
don't have to create all of the object connections since they will done for
you automatically. I'll put some sample code up on our ftp site that you
can refer to for creating an app that doesn't use an adf. Take a look in
ftp.paradigmsim.com/pub/outgoing/audio.
