I have tried to figure out how to control an ASD terrain
by making an evaluation function of my own. Unfortunately,
I've been rather unsuccessful and I would appriciate it
if anyone who know more about this could help me out.
Does an eval function take more parameters than faceid
and refvertid? And what are these indexes exactly? What
array (?) can you use them for? How come my faceid gets
the same value every time my eval function is called if
I return 1.0 every time? How does one reach the coordinates
for the face/vertex in question?
What I really try to do is two things: First, I'd like
to make the high resolution area more like a triangle or
a cone rather than concentric circles. Second, I'd like to
control the vertices in the outer borders of my terrain,
so that they always are fully morphed. This is because I'd
like to align them with earlier, static non-ASD terrain data.
I figure this can only be accomplished if the outer vertices
are not morphed but static. Otherwise "holes" will appear
when they morph.
I hope someone can help me out here.
Thanks in advance,
/Andreas
