Subject: VRML 2.0 loader
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
i've been using the DrAW computing performer 2.2 VRML loader and have a couple
of problems with it.
1) it doesn't preserve texture mapping coordinates which i put on using a VRML
editor. Netscape and Cosmo both handle this same file just fine.
2) i have not been able to get VRML 2.0 or performer 2.2 working on my onyx/RE2
machine at all. when i load 2.2 ( and i've done it several times and then
had to back out and reinstall 2.1), performer loses the path to the loader
DSO's. This is true for IV2.0 loader and .obj loader. I haven't tested it
out with others (i think i tried .flt and that was broken too) because
i don't like to do beta testing for free. I filed a bug report and then i
installed the patch that came out (# 3138 I believe) and that didn't help.
I did get the VRML 2.0 loader and performer 2.2 to work briefly on an
O2/R10K but it broke again for some obscure reason -- maybe i rebooted the
machine or upgraded the c compiler, i forget.
either way, the situation sucks and i would like to know if there is a fix.
thanks
ken
