When there were similar problems with the RE2 Fog hardware, there
was an environment variable to set - in addition to installing the
patch.

Could that be the problem here?

If so, there was something about this on this mailing list
maybe a month ago - it would be worth checking the archives
if nobody gives you a definitive answer quickly.
