                 * Experience in the design and development of commercial
                      real-time multi-processed software applications

OBJECTIVE A challenging position in the design and development of
                 graphics related software systems

COMPUTER Software: C++/C, IRIS Performer & Inventor, ogl, X/Motif,
  SKILLS Lex, Yacc, shell programmking
                 Hardware: SGI Onyx2/RE2/O2, Sun SparcStation
Operating Systems: UNIX - IRIX, SunOS, Solaris
                                     Others - NT, iRMX, AOS

EDUCATION M.S., Computer Science, University of Southwestern
                 Louisiana, Lafayette, LA
M.Sc., Computer Science, University of Mysore, India

RELEVANT LEAD ENGINEER, Triavest, San Francisco, CA
EXPERIENCE * Lead a team of engineers to develop the company's core
March 95 - product 'Reality Tracking', which is a real time 3D
present virtual set application for producers of television
                     programs.
                   * The Reality Tracking product allows users to load any
Open Inventor based 3D model and use that as a synthetic
background with custom animation capabilities. This
application runs on Silicon Graphics Onyx-class graphics
super-computer and works in conjunction with a video
camera, the blue a cyclorama or "blue-screen", a video
compositor, and other video hardware to form a complete
virtual set system. The application is capable of
tracking the video camera's motion and updating the
graphics output (i.e. synthetic background) in real time.
This background is output from the machine as a digital
video signal which, when chroma-keyed or composited with
the video camera's image, produces the illusion of live
                     talent in a virtual set.
                  * Developed core real-time 3D rendering software under IRIS
                     Performer.
                  * Designed and developed a procedure for performing camera
lens calibration and set registration without the use of
expensive or complicated optical devices. This procedure
allows the real world view from the video camera and the
computer generated background image to maintain proper
alignment and perspective at all times while the camera
                     is in motion.
                  * Designed and implemented custom engines in IRIS Performer
to perform real-time 3D animations inside the virtual set.
These animated objects can also occlude live actors,
allowing them to be positioned in front of, as well as
                     behind the live talent.
                  * Developed 'dynamic masking' feature which allows for the
use of virtual sets much larger in dimension than the
actual physical dimensions of the blue-screen. To
accomplish this, a second alpha channel or mask signal is
rendered in real-time and output to the video compositor.
                  * Developed software for various special effects including
the display of live video inside the virtual set(e.g.
virtual TV screens or movie screens), real-time synthetic
depth of field and motion blur, and real-time synthetic
shadows of the live actor inside the virtual set.
                  * Led technical team for implementation of Reality Tracking
system at NHK, Japan's premier broadcaster, in Tokyo,
Japan. This system has now been in use for over 1.5 years
without failure on a live, nightly broadcast.
                  * Extensive use of C++/C, IRIS Performer, Open Inventor and
                     OpenGL on Onyx2/Infinite Reality platform.

October 94 - SOFTWARE ENGINEER, CellNet Data Systems, San Carlos, CA
March 95 * Designed and developed a GUI based C++ class browser.
It extracts C++ classes from given source files,
structures them in a hierarchical tree and graphically
presents the output. Used Lex, Yacc, and Tcl/Tk on
                    Sun SparcStation running SunOS.
                 * Worked in a team invovled in the development of a real-
time multi-processed object oriented system to automate
the process of monitoring utilities meters via CellNet's
proprietary wireless data network. Used C++, OOP, and
                    object oriented database "ObjectStore".

June 94 - TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER, Sun Microsystems Inc.,
  September 94 Mountain View,CA
                 * Provided technical support for Sun's 2D/3D graphics
toolkits, OpenWindows, SunOS, Solaris and other related
products. It included assisting customers with the
installation of software, giving troubleshooting advise
on their software written using C++, C, X, Xgl, and
Motif, and resolving problems during the usage and
configuration of X Windows system server, Window managers
                    and various desktop tools.

September 92 - PROGRAMMER/ANALYST, Apparel Computer Integrated Manufacturing
  December 93 Center, Lafayette, LA
                 * Worked in a team to develop a VR walkthrough of a factory
floor using IRIX, Performer and C++ On Onyx and Indigo
                    machines.
                 * Designed and developed SQL based software to process
incoming garment bundles and automatically configure
the sewing machines to match the bundle type. Used C, and
                    realtional database "Btrieve" on MS-DOS.

March 89 - SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMER, Defense Research and Development
  April 92 Organization, India
                 * Developed software to simulate various components of
a radar such as receiver, signal processor, and
centroider. Used C and Assembly Language on Data General
                    Eclipse280 running AOS.
                 * Worked with other engineers to design, develop, test and
integrate real- time multi-processed simulator for AKASH,
                    a phased-array, electronically scanning, multi-target
missile system. It provided various aircraft and clutter
war scenarios to the radar data processor through the
Multibus II channel. Used C and 8086 Assembly on Intel's
                    iRMX real-time operating system.
