Help : kill -9 pid does not work!!!

Howdy,

        My application freezed the screen when I ran it. I used kill -9 pid to
kill the process but it didn't work. Can you tell me other ways to kill the
process besides reboot the system? How to use "freeproc" which is shipped with
Peformer? I am running Performer 2.0 and IRIX 6.2. on RE2 with MCO installed.
