A simple problem in some ways:

[imagefile].rgb + [greyscaleimagefile].rgb = [composite imagefile].rgba

That is to say I want to use a greyscale image as the graded alpha
channel for an rgba image, for instance for putting a graded tint on a
car window.

Does any one know of an application that is readily available to combine
two such images to create an rgba file with graded alpha channel?

Thanks

Simon.
