This is referring to the fact that the performer_eoe.compat\* subsystems
released with Performer 2.2 are broken. The short answer is you can't do this
until SGI fixes those compatibility libraries and issues a patch.

This is a different problem. A combination of bugs with (newer) rld and
pfdLoadFile prevent versioned DSOs from linking properly. A workaround for this
is to create a symbolic link to the versioned DSO that you need. For example:

  su
  cd /usr/lib/libpfdb
  ln -s libpfft_ogl.so.3 libpfflt_ogl.so

PS: SGI is in the process of fixing these problems.
