Well even if there is a smaller hardware limit an OpenGL
implementation should be able to handle any number working
around the hardware implementation, the handle is an unsigned
integer which should give 2^32 unique handles before you have
to do anything smart at the application level so I don't
think you'll be running into any limit soon.
