I just wanted mention that we've seen the same thing here. Our app is built
with Performer 2.1, and running it on a system with the "compatibility"
libraries from 2.2 produced exactly this result: the shaded and lit parts
of the scene were reduced from shaded colours to shades of grey. That's
kind of a showstopper for an on-air television application.
