Hi,
Imersiva has a tool to generate a "raw" matrix of altimetry
from DXF or xyz into either byte, integer or float, (Intel
or SGI formats)

ALso, we have a tool - SkeleTIN - that generates highly
optimized
TIN with LODs, gouraud, texture mapping and texture
tiling.

Both programs run on NT or IRIX and are still on evaluation
process.
