Use the command 'pfconv abcde.flt abcde.pfb'. This creates a Performer
Fast Binary format file. They are _much_ faster than Multigen .flt
files.

Yes...
        pfdStoreFile(rootNode, "abcde.pfb");
        pfdLoadFile("abcde.pfb");

These wil look at the extension and determine which pfStoreFile_xxx call
to use and which format is output. There are only a limited number of
output formats supported though (.pfa, .pfa, .dwb and .medit last time I
checked - see pfconv man page).
