Makefile error

Hi,
  I have a biginer question:
  I had copy the files from /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/libpf/C
     to a directory in my home directory.
  I had try to "make" but I ve got this errors

make: file `Makefile' line 49: Must be a separator (: or ::) for rules
(bu39)
make: file `Makefile' line 49: Syntax error

What is the problem and what can I do ?
