Performer uses an internal format of GL_RGB5_A1 as default. This reduces
the number of bits/component from 8 to 5.You can go over the list of
textures and run
pfTexFormat (tex, PFTEX_INTERNAL_FORMAT, PFTEX_RGBA_8);
