You can use the pfMatrix functions:

  pfMatrix::getOrthoQuat(pfQuat& dst);
  pfMatrix::makeQuat(const pfQuat& q);

to go from

  pfCoord->pfMatrix->pfQuat

or

  pfQuat->pfMatrix->pfCoord
