I am using 2 concentric spheres with almost-equal radiuses. When I am far
away from those spheres, there is a problem of flickering between
almost-coplanar polygons coming from the 2 spheric layers.
In order to give a priority to the biggest-radius-sphere, I have used a
pfLayer node above the 2 nodes associated to the 2 spheres, like this :
layer(pfLayer)
!____________
! !
sphere_1 sphere_2
It doesnot work ; the flickering has not moved away.
Do I have to understand that pfLayer works only with planar objects ?
My 2 spheres are facettized exactly the same way, ie one is the exact
homothety of the other, so each polygon of one sphere is parallel and decaled
from one polygon of the other sphere. That's why I expected that pfLayer
would work.
What advice would you give me to resolve this problem of priority between 2
concentric spheres ?
I dont want to switch off the little sphere when I am outside the big one,
because the big sphere is semi-transparent, to see the texture of the little
one.
Hope to have been clear enough,
Cheers,
Mike
