Hello,
I have used Exceed 5 to remotely login with IRIX 6.2. It
requires Windows NT and a add-on product to Exceed 5 called
Exceed 3D for Windows NT V5.1 and will only run on NT. It supports
some OpenGL but there are some calls which are not supported.

I was able to use software manager and other IRIX graphics utilities.
It worked with the Lynx panel from Vega but failed when I ran
a Vega app that I had written.

If you have Exceed 5 already the Exceed 3D was not very expensive
so maybe it's worth a try for you.

Good Luck,
