I have an interesting texture problem running MultiGen (14.1, 14.2, and
Series II) on a high impact. The problem started when I upgraded to
IRIX 6.2 - basically, some textures (usually with 2:1, 4:1, 1:4, or 1:2
aspect ratio) appear as broad bands of color on the MultiGen desktop but
behave correctly in perfly and vega. (The textures show up correctly in
the texture editor and also on the series II texture palette.)
The impact has one TRAM and most of the recommended patches from SGI.
We have one other machine like this one and it exhibits the same
problem. I've tried it on two other impacts, both with 4 TRAMS, and the
texture appeared fine on one but not on the other.
I've compared patches with the 4TRAM impact which works, but haven't
been able to find out what's causing the problem. Has anyone heard of
anything like this?
I'm including a sample texture cliffx2.rgb, and a screen capture of what
it looks like on the MultiGen desktop - snap.rgb.
Thanks,
Charles.
P.S. (All the 6.2 impacts at MultiGen have 4TRAMS - they have not seen
this problem.)
