Hi David :

I had the same problem a few weeks back, when I was trying to run some
old (pf1.2) app. And had a suggestion from SGI which fixed the problem.

I understand that, you must be having a disk with XFS
on it at "/". And this creates the problem for creating a Semphore on
these disks. I dont' know why. Try setting the PFTMPDIR to point to a
tmp directory on a disk with EFS. And it should work.
