The assertion that sampled aka jerky motion is overestimated is
supported by some work on human motion perception (I really wish
I would religously archive every single paper I see...).

Bad thing seems to be that this may have some effect even at 60Hz.
Note that dropping frames also contributes to jerkyness. From
experience I'd say overestimation seems to be in the order of 5-10%
at 30Hz though I haven't done any kind of formal study.

This effect creeps in when doing dynamic stereo (combining stereo
with motion parallax to account for a moving observer). Observers
tend to reduce the geometric effect of head motion to around 0.9
to perceive a stabilized stereoscopic image in space.
