We have done simple benchmarks on some code(realtime dynamics model of a car),
and the R10000 shows a performance boost of up to 3-4 times. Also, we have had
NO problems with the R10000 in our Onyx. I guess we were lucky... ;-)

In general, the R10000 seems to do a lot of stuff a whole lot faster, not just
crunching code; database loading, feeding the graphics pipeline, etc. All in
all, I would strongly recommend the R10000 instead of the R4400. It is also e
better investment for the future, with upgrades of different sorts in mind.
