R10000 or R4400

Hi Performer:

   We got a visual simulation project and plan to buy the 4CPU
Oynx wiht IR. But we can't make a decision to buy R10000 or R4400.
The reason that we afraid to buy R10000 is that we heard some people
say that R10000 is unstable and not gain too much performance. Is
this True? (with IRIX6.2)(price is not a issue)

   Is there anyone have R10000 Oynx with very good performance?
   or Any sugguestion? Thank a lot.
