Thanks to Robert C. Rossow (see included message below) ... I now have
colors on both sides. The fix looks like this ...

myGeostate->setAttr(PFSTATE_BACKMTL,myGeostate->getAttr(PFSTATE_FRONTMTL));

look at pfMaterial. each face has a material which is applied to
either the front face, the back face, or both faces.
