I've got an IR with two monitor outputs. I've been playing with different
configurations of output with ircombine. What I've eventually like to do
is
- have one monitor (the console) with 1280x1024 when anyone logs in.
- when someone runs our Performer app, change the frame buffer to
2560x1024; run the app on the right "half" on the external monitor, and
keep the app xterms and such on the console.
What I seem to have found is that while ircombine can change the monitor
resolutions and en/disable, it can't change the size of the framebuffer
unless it is first written to the EEPROM, then stop and startgfx. The
alternative is to always use the 2560x1024 framebuffer, but then programs
(such as xdm) display half on and half off both displays (we don't really
want the external monitor on all the time).
Anyone know of any solution to this?
