Binding video channels

I'm having difficulty running more than 1 pfPipeWindow per pfPipe and
am curious if I missing something basic. I can create two pipes
and run a separate pfPipeWindow per pipe without any problems; however,
when I try two pfPipeWindows on one pipe, I get through the Draw Callback
once and then nothing. On frequent occasions, the window manager goes down.
No corefile or notify messages (level 6) are generated. This occurs in
both multiprocessor and single processor mode. While I've stepped
through the code several times, I haven't had a chance to write a simple
test case.
The reason I'm attempting multiple pfPipeWindows is to use DVR.
I've had a one channel, one pipewindow configuration using DVR successfully.
Is it possible to use only one pfPipeWindow per pipe to support multiple
pfPipeVideoChannels bound to different hardware video channels ?
I experimented with viewport settings (unsuccessfully) and it appears
multiple pfPipeWindows is the way to go.
Is there additional documentation available for the interaction
between hardware channels, pfPipeVideoChannels, and pfPipeWindows ?
The proper method of binding a set of channels (one or more pfChannels)
to one hardware channel is not clear (to me).
Is there any sample code using multiple pfPipeWindows ? How about
DVR on multiple hardware channels ?
Hardware
2 pipe IR running IRIX6.2
Performer 2.1
6 R10K's
2 RM6's per pipe
