OpenFlight supports the instancing of models and databases. The town is made
up of hundreds of instances, like the trees and the buildings. There are two
kinds of instancing at work in this database: internal and external. Internal
instances are models within a database file that are referenced one or more
times from within the same database. External instances are references from
one database file to another. In both types of instancing, each instantiation
can be transformed to a new location and/or orientation (and even scale).
Regards.
