Patches 1223, 1271 and 1268 are for Irix 5.3. 1208,1270 and 1333 are for Irix
6.2. You can get them from ftp-europe.sgi.com:~ftp/private/reading if any
aren't there let me know and I get them put on. If ftp proves flakey contact
your local SGI office to get them sent on tape.
Onto the problem you describe, did you get a CTXSW timeout warning just before
the errors you posted ?
There are several causes of this type of problem on Irix 5.3 Impact a majority
of which are fixed by the latest patches. Any outstanding problems tend to be
application specific ( and are mostly fixed in 6.2 ) so to test that try
running the Certian Impact demo - if that runs OK you may have a SW error in
which case you could try an OS then patch reload. If Certian Impact fails then
assuming you have the correct Vega installation you could possibly have a HW
problem - do you have another machine with exactly the same HW to try this on ?
It's interesting that you say your High Impact is OK but the Max isn't. My
impression is that this sort of problem tends to be independant of whether it's
High or Max but I'm sure that's not always true. I guess to get any further on
this you should try the above and if you don't make any progress send me the
output of:
/usr/gfx/gfxinfo and versions -a | grep -i patch and versions -n eoe1 for each
machine plus a description of what happens on each. Ideally you should also log
a support call with your local SGI office and provide the above info to them.
Finally if this problem is on an Irix 5.3 machine, I'd recommend upgrading to
6.2 as soon as possible as I believe Impact running 6.2 + patch 1333 is
generally more stable.
