I have a similar problem with the loader for 3ds files, that I asked about
several weeks ago and never found a solution for. I'm running Performer on
several different machines. On the Max Impact or Solid Impacts, there are no
problems. But when I execute my program on either of our ONYX's (we have an
older ONYX, and we just recently got an RE3 in addition), I get errors when it
tries to load the 3DS files:

PF Warning: pfdFindConverterDSO() - Could not load
        DSO for extension "3ds"
PF Warning: pfdLoadFile() - Unable to load file
f15.3ds because of problem finding pfdLoadFile_3ds

I only get these errors on 3ds files -- all other files work perfectly -- and I
only get them on the two ONYX's.

Any ideas?

Thanks, in advance.
