Fog in Open GL

Many thanks to all that replied to be pfCullFace query - it ended that I
was loading in a data file that had been processed by and exe compiled
with IRISGL!

Now I'm having fun with what I think is a weirder problem! Since porting
to OpenGL - I've noticed that:

        1) The fog is now excessive - even down to the extent that my sky
           tent polygons are always fogged! Even when I disable fog in
           the attached gstate! What gives?

        2) Having general weirdness with billboards...

Anybody got any clues?
