channel data

Does anyone no of any limitations, allocating and/or implementing
channel data from shared memory?

I have an array of pointers of a user-defined data type
which corresponds to an array pf pfChannels.I allocChanData for each channel and assign it to the
chan_data pointer; I send the channel data before
every pfFrame but none if it seems to make it the
callback functions.
  The one test case I ran which seem to work was
if all the channel data pointed to the same struct
of data.
