shadows together with ESky?

I try to combine shadow functionality with EarthSky. It seems that it doesn't
work together. If I remove

         pfClear(PFCL_COLOR|PFCL_DEPTH, &clr);

the result is useless and if I include it no EarthSky is drawn.

I tried it with a modified version of shadows.C

Any ideas or suggestions will be extremely helpful.
