I have a mixed mode X/Iris GL application which displays a terrain map in a
window with GL symbology superimposed on it. Currently the map is drawn with
IRIS GL commands. I want to replace this map with a "top-down" view generated
by a Performer application, but I want to retain the GL symbology drawn on top
of it.

This application also has a large number of detailed Motif/X panels, pull-down
menus, etc.

I need some advice on the best way to integrate the Performer map into the
existing X/Motif/GL application. Can the performer map be drawn as a rendered
image by calling a function from inside my X application, or does the Performer
application need to be "in charge", so to speak?

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated.
