I may be wrong, but i believe that most developers in the vissim world
are far more interested in performance than portability. that is not to
say that that it is not important, and that we would all like to write
code only once, but given the choice, performance is king. It is tough
too say to your customer or boss: "sure, it's only half as fast, but
it also runs on a PC". They bought an SGI. They bought it for the
performance. Performer was developed by some pretty talented folks
to get the performance out of the machine and to provide those
capabilities needed in the vissim community. I doubt that GVS can
match the capabilities in Performer, given the trade-offs made for
cross platform operation, but i would like to see them try. how about
it John, is GVS better, faster than Performer?
