you can change the version of Inventor files with /usr/sbin/ivdowngrade
which is installed from inventor_eoe.sw.inventor. Also you can read V1 files
into gview and if you save the current scenegraph from gview to a .iv file it
will be the version of Inventor you are running ( probably only works going
V1->V2.x ).
