I'm afraid you are right that we have a hardware problem here
since I see the same stripes viewing my database in modelgen;
The stripes occur only in the viewing window and not all over
the screen.

(By the way not all of our textures are square.
We saw the problem using IRIX6.2beta and IRIX6.2.)
