I've heard about OpenGVS & it sounds like a worthwhile goal but my main concern
is that it cannot keep pace with innovative hardware and OpenGL extensions on
Silicon Graphics platforms, which has a considerable technology lead over other
suppliers. I'm not saying it doesn't, I'm just saying this is a concern I have,
could you please comment.

I'd also like to add that some of the suppliers mentioned by others earlier in
this thread seem to be completely uncommitted to the Visual Simulation market.
They're not even making a half hearted attempt to tackle the difficult problems
we all face. There is competition out there but HP & SUN in Vis Sim?

Rgds,
Angus.

> First, let me say that Performer is a great productivity product, and so is
OpenGVS. As Don pointed out, OpenGVS is a computer image generation API with
"basically everything Performer has" but unlike Performer, OpenGVS is intended
(by design and focus) to be FULLY cross platform compatible at the end user
application level while still delivering ALL of the underlying graphics
hardware performance to the end user.
