i've been using pfiInputXformTrackball objects in an application. everything
seems to work fairly predictably except tball->setMat(mat) never, ever,
actually let's me set the InputXform matrix directly. no problem with
pfiInputXformTrackball::getMat(). also, no problem at all with reset().

does anyone have any experience with this? is there a known bug with
pfiInputXformTrackball::setMat(), perhaps?

ps. the analogous C routines gave me exactly the same behavior.
