Don't know how to use keyboard in Perf 2.0

Somehow I can't understand how to use the keyboard in my Perf 2.0
application.

I tried to follow the complex.C example, used qdevice() to choose the
keys I want queued and then copied the qtest() routine in GetGlInput()
function.

This didn't work: nothing happens qhen I press them. Qtest() always
retuns 0.

Can anyone teach a simple way to use the keyboard?
