Could anyone direct me to some documents or books explaining about
how CPU, Geometry engine, Raster Manager are cooperating to do the rendering
on a display, in a way with a little bit more details than what's in the
SGI RealityEngine technical report. I always have the impression that CPU
is doing nothing other than sending data down the pipleline.
Also, a little bit more details on multisampling, texture paging,
and how the frame buffer is partitioned..etc.
I get into SGI graphics stuff starting from reading OpenGL programmers
guide and RealityEngine Technical Report. Then I work on Performer 1.2. which
made me feel that I have do some readings on IrisGL. I have been reading all
you Performer experts discussions in this mail group.
Could someone fill me in with a little more SGI graphics technical
background so that I can read your questions/answers with more understanding.
