pfBuffer question

Suppose that I have a DCS node with 2 children, and that I want to continually
replace child 0 in a DBASE func. Initially, everything's created in the APP
process.

In the DBASE func, I use pfBufferInsert(shared->parentDCS, 0, newModel). It
works, but my question is, is this the right way to do it? In the pfBuffer man
page, it states:

"pfBufferAddChild and pfBufferRemoveChild provide access to nodes that do not
exist in the current pfBuffer."

Which means that pfBufferInsert doesn't provide such access. From what I know
about buffers, shared->parentDCS doesn't really exist in the local DBASE buffer
(which I've created and selected). So pfBufferInsert shouldn't work. Am I
just totally confused?

Thanks for any insight.
