John Rolf from SGI sent me the following concerning shadows on Infinite
Reality. One question remains: Is this comment still valid considering the
soon-to-come release of Irix 6.2 and Performer 2.1?

Performer 2.0 does not yet take full advantage of the new
InfiniteReality OpenGL-based Hardware since some OpenGL extensions
which access the hardware have not yet been implemented.
The shadow extension has not been implemented yet and even if it
makes it for the InfiniteReality release, 2.0 will not be able
to use it.
