in fact that is exactly what the java people did at sun a couple of
months ago. they too had a list with hundreds of messages per week.
now they send out a summary instead.
a better solution to the subscribe/unsubscribe errors would be for
the system person(s) on this list to add a filter which automatically
re-routes any message with either key word in the subject or body of
the message.
