Hi all,

Questions and my Answers:

RealityEngine2, gl
------------------

Q: Paging from main memory to texture memory (subtexload).

A: For 16bit texels is from 59Mtexels/s (1k^2) to 22Mtexels/s (64^2)

Q: Paging from framebuffer to texture memory (fbsubtexload)

A: For Luminance texels (from one component) is from 25Mpixels/s (1kx1k) to 15M
A: For 16bit texels in general is about 9Mpixels/s to 5Mpixles/s

Q: This numbers are no so bad, doesn't it ?

A: Well, keep in mind that it blocks all the pipe while paging (trade off
between paging versus geometry and fill).
A: Well, but only page to Bilinear textures.

InfiniteReality, ogl
--------------------

Q: Paging from main memory to texture memory.

A: I have seen on preproduction machines 160 MB/s (this number could change to
better in the production machines)

Q: Paging from framebuffer to texture memory

A: I have seen on preproduction machines 250 MB/s (this number ... )

Q: This numbers are no so bad, doesn't it ?

A: This numbers are even better, since the IR is able to fill and page at the
same time, which means that the old trade off the paging versus time to render
is no longer a big issue)

I am not responsable of this numbers ... blah ... blah.... the final numbers
could be different ... blah ... blah ...

All the above numbers are a "sample" from some tests and demos that we have
made. As far as i know the marketing numbers are going to be around to the
actual final numbers on the machines that we will ship in March.

Order one IR now or you will have to wait !!!!!

And please, this time do not wait three years to use the advance features of
the machine. The RE2 numbers for texture paging have been working since 5.0.1.

If you think that some feature is not covered by your current version of
performer at one time, or if you think that you need a more custom use of this
capabilities, please fell free to use Draw callbacks.

If you wish to make a difference in your products in relation with your
competitors, please, use the advance features.
