I am still using Performer2.0, a151. I dont have the release verion yet.
But this shouldn't matter because looking at the complaints, beta seems
to have performed better than the release version.
I get the classic "nbclean" core dump from the DBASE process. I load various
.iv files through the DBASE process. I have noticed that it seems to be OK
for small iv files. But the moment I load large ones, it crashes in the
call to pfMergeBuffer(). I can load, merge, and display properly up to
two different iv files loaded one after another. But after that it always
crashes. Due to some constraints, I can't call pfMergeBuffer after every
pfBufferAddChild (this has anyway not solved the nbclean mystery).
I have already reported other problems with the order of pfBufferAddChild calls
not being maintained, in my previous mails. I do not know what steps have been
taken to correct this.
Anyway, I can work around my second problem. But the first one really needs
attention. The nice and extremely useful feature of being able to modify the
scene graph on the fly might as well be worthless if we can't use it without
crashing the program!
I hope that this problem is considered important enough and looked into.
