Yes. Here are some ways to do it:
1. render the image a normal
2. copy the image from frame buffer to texture ram
3. render the distorted image:
a) onto a grid with rectangular S&T but distorted geometry
b) onto a grid with distorted S&T but rectangular geometry
c) using projective texture onto curved geometry
The copy in step 2 is fast, and the second rendering pass of
step 3 is fast too.
