correctamundo on your guess... if running High Impact at 1280x1024 double
buffered, you get 2 36bit buffers... one for Z and stencil and one which gives
you a 16 bit front and back buffer. this lets you do 4444 or 5551 RGBA pixels.
options are: 1) go to 1024x768 to get a third 36bit buffer so you can do true
32 bit double buffer, or 2) upgrade to Maximum Impact to get the additional
frame buffer memory required to do true 32 bit double buffered at 1280x1024.
BTW, this will also give you a second Geometry engine and double your fill
rate too 8^).
