        It turns out that creating parents before children is not
        the proper workaround for this bug. I believe you will be OK
        if you call pfGetNodeBSphere() on the root of all subgraphs that
        are to be merged (this automatically cleans the subgraph so
        pfMergeBuffer() doesn't have to). You may also have to call
        pfAppFrame() if you have APP callbacks. Let me know if this works.
