Loading DXF's

Having created a landscape with Vista Pro I tried to load it in
'perfly'. I get an empty scene.

I then tried to load it with 3DStudio and it loaded ok. I applied
materials and lights to the scene (in 3ds), saved it again and tried to
load it through 'perfly' again. Still nothing happened.

What am I doing wrong here?
