The problem with this situation is obvious to many. And of
course, texturing can be sped up quite a bit by trading off
against quality. The Indy folks have looked at finding
some hopefully sweet spots in the spectrum of such trade-offs.
I think some of it will be in IRIX 6.2. Despair not.
