I just got email from someone pointing out that my previous
instructions were not clear enough to help people download the
documents. Here are some step-by-step instructions:

 1. go to this URL: http://www.sgi.com/Technology/TechPubs

 2. select "catalogs"

 3. select "development libraries"

At this point, you're at the following URL in case you want to
jump to this point directly:

    http://www.sgi.com/Technology/TechPubs/lib/0530bom.html#TOC

Now, keep moving...

 4. click on any of the three Performer volumes (they are
listed first for easy reference) For example, click
    on "IRIS Performer Programmer's Guide"

 5. The choices are there: OnLine, PostScript, or Printed.
(note that the printed manuals are nicely bound with
the deluxe Stay-Flat process) If you choose the "PostScript"
    option...

 6. ...you'll get a form that lets you pick any and all
chapters that you want from the book. They will then
be packaged into a tar file and downloaded to your
    system.

The only weak link in all of this is the potential for problems
with American .vs other paper size standards. One European user
reported a problem when printing, but Angus Henderson, of the SGI
UK RealityCenter was able to resolve it (at least, we never had
any feedback that it was not solved).

Hope this helps,
Michael Jones
